Noson ger yr RIVER. An evening by the RIVER

Neuadd Bentref Trefriw Village Hall

AM DDIM ond rhaid cofestru

Ymunwch â ni ar siwrnai sinematig a cherddorol sy'n archwilio'r berthynas ryfeddol rhwng bodau dynol ac afonydd mewn dangosiad dan do o 'RIVER'.

Dewch draw i neuadd bentref Trefriw am noson o ffilm wrth i ni archwilio’r cysylltiadau dŵr croyw yn nalgylch afon Conwy.  Wedi ysgrifennu gan Robert Macfarlane ac yn cynnwys cerddoriaeth gan Jonny Greenwood a Radiohead gyda thrafodaeth ac adroddiad gan Willem Dafoe.

"Mae bodau dynol wedi caru afonydd ers amser maith. Ond gan ein bod ni wedi dysgu sut i ffrwyno eu gallu, ydyn ni hefyd wedi anghofio eu parchu?"

Trwy gydol hanes, mae afonydd wedi siapio ein tirweddau a’n teithiau; wedi llifo trwy ein diwylliannau a’n breuddwydion.  Mae “River” yn mynd â’r gynulleidfa ar siwrne trwy ofod ac amser; yn pontio chwe cyfandir, ac yn tynnu ar sinematograffi hynod gyfoes, yn cynnwys ffilmio lloerenol, dangosir y ffilm afonydd ar raddfeydd a phersbectif sydd erioed wedi weld o’r blaen.  Yn cyfuno delweddau, miwsig, sgript barddonol fydd yr oll yn creu ffilm sydd yn bwerus a hudolus, yn anrhydeddu gwylltineb yr afonydd ond hefyd yn cydnabod eu gwendidau.

Gofod Glas Conwy sy’n cyflwyno’r digwyddiad yma. Mae wedi cael cymhorthdal drwy gyllid gan Sefydliad Esmée Fairbairn.

FREE but reserve your place

Join us for a cinematic and musical odyssey that explores the remarkable relationship between humans and rivers in an indoor screening of 'RIVER'.

Come along to Trefriw village hall for an evening of film as we explore the freshwater connections in the Conwy river catchment area. Written by Robert Macfarlane featuring music by Jonny Greenwood and Radiohead with narration by Willem Dafoe.

"Humans have long loved rivers. But as we have learned to harness their power, have we also forgotten to revere them?"

Throughout history, rivers have shaped our landscapes and our journeys; flowed through our cultures and dreams. RIVER takes its audience on a journey through space and time; spanning six continents, and drawing on extraordinary contemporary cinematography, including satellite filming, the film shows rivers on scales and from perspectives never seen before. Its union of image, music and sparse, poetic script will create a film that is both dream-like and powerful, honouring the wildness of rivers but also recognises their vulnerability.

This event is brought to you by Gofod Glas Conwy. Subsidised with funding from Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
